Dish: New Food at Ukrop's

I’m not sure how other people shop for groceries, but here’s how I do it.
My boyfriend and I plan our shopping list, arrive at the store, pile groceries in the cart and then, before we check out, we pick up something for dinner.
It’s not that we don’t understand that all of the groceries in our cart can be turned into dinner; it’s just that A. we’re not sure how that’s done; and B. we’re very lazy; the last thing we want to do after grocery shopping is prepare food.
Instead we hit the prepared food counter at Ukrop’s (or the salad bar, or the sushi bar, or the grill) and grab dinner to go.
So of course I was excited to learn that just in time for the 20th anniversary of its Kitchen Ukrop’s added more than 20 new prepared meals.
The new Ukrop’s Bakes are designed to feed the whole family (up to five or six people), to be cooked in 30 minutes are less and are all affordable priced at around $3 or $4 per serving (some are also available in individual sized as well).
New menu items include: White House Roll Bread Pudding; Satay Tray with Asian-seasoned shrimp, beef and chicken grilled and served on skewers; Roasted Fall Vegetables (featuring butternut squash, rutabaga, red onion, red pepper and asparagus seasoned with salt, pepper, and thyme then oven-roasted with shaved Asiago); Pasta Carbonara; Carnitas Tamale Bake; and the Roasted Vegetable Frittata with Fontina Cheese.
You can check them out here in our slideshow of Ukrop’s newest prepared foods.
