You heard it here first, Richmond. Participants for Restaurant Week 2009 have been announced. This year, Restaurant Week starts on Monday, Oct. 26 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 1.
As always, we have the folks at Acacia, Dale and Aline Reitzer, to thank for putting this together. And even though this is the eighth year for Restaurant Week, it’s the first at the Reitzer’s new Acacia Mid-town location.
In case you’re new to Restaurant Week, the details are: each participating restaurant (see list below) puts together a special three-course menu that costs $25.09 per person. Each restaurant then donates $2.09 per dinner to The Central Virginia Food Bank.
And, in case you’re new to Richmond.com, each and every year we publish the menus as soon as they’re created (which often isn’t until the week before … or later).
FYI, restaurant owners, Restaurant Week 2009 is closed out for participants, but if you’re thinking about next year, go ahead and give Aline or Dale a call at the restaurant. You might just get in on a possible second Restaurant Week.
That’s right, according to Aline, "we are still working out the details of adding another [Restaurant Week] in the early part of the year where we may be able to add some more and new restaurants."
Now that’s the juiciest restaurant news I’ve heard in a while.
