The Nice-n-Slow:
On Thursday, November 5, The Trans-Siberian Orchestra (brainchild of Paul O'Neill, Robert Kinkel and Jon Oliva) will be performing at the Richmond Coliseum. This is some intense stuff! Watch a mashup of their performances here.
The National welcomes country musician Phil Vassar and a special guest Friday night. Click here for details.
Also on Friday, Robert Fleischman (Journey Singer/Songwriter) and The Sky, the Sharp Comfort and Mistaken Identity play Alley Katz. More info here.
The Battle of Me, Battle Ghost, Rosyln, The Weather and Parchment Kick play the National on Saturday. Get more info here.
Charlottesville natives Thao with The Get Down Stay Down, Portland Cello Project and David Shultz and the Skyline kick up some dust at the Canal Club on Saturday. Show details.
Also on Saturday, Dean Fields comes home to the Capital Ale House Downtown. Check out Andrew Cothern's interview with Dean right here on Richmond.com. Get more info here.
Last but not least on Saturday, Synvious, Iggy Plop and El Presidente perform at the Plaza Bowl. Details...wham!

Drumroll please ... On Tuesday, the 10th, Monsters of Folk come to the Landmark Theater. Who the hey are the Monsters of Folk, you say? Only the five years in the making Indie juggernaut made of Jim James (of My Morning Jacket), Conor Oberst (of Bright Eyes), M. Ward (of She & Him and some solo stuff) and Mike Mogis (also from Bright Eyes, etc.). $35 is a lot of bones to lay down for a concert, especially in these economic times, but this 2.5 hour long show is sure to dazzle. They'll be performing songs from their new album, aptly titled Monsters of Folk and some of their respective personal hits. I am so there! Click here for more details.
Brand New and Thrice with guest Crime in Stereo will perform at the National on Tuesday. What a freaking bummer that this show is the same night as MOF. Jesse Lacey (Brand New) and company are sure to beat the hell out of your eardrums - in the nicest way possible - at this show. If they play "Jesus Christ," "Limousine" or "Fork and Knife" promise me you'll rock out for me. Details ... go!
Wednesday, the 11th, English Rock band The Cult comes to the National. Click here for more details.
