Jer Coons, More Infectious Than Swine Flu?
Jer Coons is catchy.
No, not H1N1 catchy, before you run off googling his name to find out how you can avoid him (or it).
Let me clarify. His music is catchy.
Jer (it's prounced like "chair" or half of Jerry) has been compared to John Mayer and really sounds an awful lot like Jason Mraz - that cute guy from Mechanicsville who's song "I'm Yours" is breaking billboard records.

| Jer Coons sounds like Jason Mraz and wants to be the next John Mayer. He's well on his way. |
He has also been likened to Howie Day. "Both play killer live shows with full bands, or solo acoustic with many loop pedals". But: "Jer has never been addicted to heroin, gone to rehab, or dated Britney Spears in rehab. ". Shew.
However, it seems his want for fame hasn't gone to his head just yet. He has this to say about a comparison to John Mayer: "John Mayer is probably better than Jer Coons" - his modesty is admirable!
The 20-year-old's latest single, "Legs," which he penned about an ex, is so completely smash-hit radio ready that I'll eat my shorts if you don't hear about him cavorting around with other Hollywood music A-listers by the time we hit double-digit 2000s.
Jer, that Taylor Swift is a hottie. If you could write her a song about sweeping her off her feet into the arms of a modern-day knight (that's you, clearly) I'm sure you'll win her over. Just watch out for Kanye, he apparently has something against the cute little starlet. But don't worry, Beyonce's got her back. Bros before hoes, baby!

Want to be there first? To see him and love him and hug him and stare at him longfully before everyone else? (He's really kind of adorable) Catch him Friday night, October 23 (wait, that's tonight) with Mitch Bamberger and Franklin Massie at the Camel. Click here for event details.
Jer's debut LP Speak came out September 29. You can purchase it here.
