Six Burner's New Chef, Spanish Wines and Drinking in the Grocery Store

Answer: The Fresh Market in the Westend of Richmond. This week support a good cause (the Junior League of Richmond) while drinking wine and picking up dinner. Or, make this event dinner, they’ll be plenty of food on hand.

"Attendees will have the opportunity to sample over 30 wines coupled with amazing gourmet food pairings prepared by The Fresh Market. The Fresh Market is located at 1527 North Parham Road.
Tickets can be purchased for $30 each or two tickets for $50. The Fresh Market will donate the entire ticket cost to the Junior League of Richmond. You can buy your tickets in advance on the Junior League's website, jlrichmond.org, or at the door."
Wednesday, October 21st, 6:30PM, Catalunyann Wine Dinner @ Six Burner
Love wine? Love Spain? Then you’ll adore this five-course wine dinner prepared by Six Burner’s new chef, Philip Denny. Chef Denny will pair food from northeastern Spain (the area around Barcelona) with wines selected by Julia of River City Cellars and her beau/Six Burner Manager Dave Martin. The couple recently visited Cataluyna and will share pictures via slide-show of their trip.
Some highlights of the dinner include: "Baccalao a pil pil" (salt cod in olive oil emulsion) with roasted padron peppers; rabbit with salsa verde & baby carrots; octopus & chorizo "pintxos" (bite sized Basque tapas); and braised bull’s tail stew with Asturian beans paired with a rich wine from Priorat.
The dinner, like all noteworthy events, will begin with a regional sparkling wine.
